Games Legacy For Scotland
Young Scot Youth Legacy Ambassadors

The Games Legacy for Scotland is a nationwide programme which aims to deliver a lasting legacy from the Commonwealth Games 2014 and promote the positive effects this can bring to people and communities across Scotland.
Young Scot in partnership with the Scottish Government has recruited over 100 young volunteers from across Scotland to act as Youth Legacy Ambassadors (YLA). Their role will be to promote and champion the Commonwealth Games 2014, as well as the lasting opportunities that major sporting events will bring to Scotland.
The Youth Legacy Ambassadors are supported at a local level by their local legacy leads and Young Scot at a national level, to help them build momentum in the run up to the Commonwealth Games by organising events, creating podcasts, online articles and videos.
As well as achieving an active Scotland the ambassadors will encourage a connected Scotland, which is vibrant and culturally rich, a sustainable Scotland, by reflecting our environmental targets and a flourishing Scotland as we build and strengthen our economy.
If you know or work with young people who might be interested in becoming a Youth Legacy Ambassador or if you work in the sport and leisure industry and think you could support an YLA in your area, please get in touch with Jamie Dunlop, Engagement & Participation Officer, email: jamied@youngscot.org
