Young Scot "In-School" Portal

Redesigned in 2011, the new Young Scot Portal has been fully developed in partnership with young people through consultation and co-production, helping to ensure our services are relevant to their needs.
www.youngscot.org is the national information portal for Scotlandfor those in-school. It has been designed to give young people access to high-quality, up-to-date and reliable information and opportunities.
The site is jam packed with information on a range of topics including, health, relationships etc. Plus it features music and film reviews, competitions and the chance to listen to the latest In Tune podcast.
This core site includes 32 'local sites', one for every council area in Scotland, which enables young people to access local and national information and opportunities, while enabling partners to signpost and promote local services directly to young people.
What's On Where
www.youngscotwow.org is
the youth opportunities search engine. It is searchable
listings of free and paid, services, events,
training courses and other opportunities for young
people.
It was developed with the support of a National Advisory Committee with representatives from Local Authorities, Government, Voluntary and Statutory sectors and young people. It is funded by the Scottish Government as part of the youth work strategy 'Moving Forward: A Strategy For Improving Young People's Chances Through Youth Work'.
Opportunities on WOW are organised into six super categories - Creative and Cultured, Volunteer, Get Involved, Learning Zone, Entertain Me and Get Active.
The site gives young people increased access to opportunities and access to services by providing the most up-to-date information on activities and events happening both at a local and national level.
Cashback for Communities and WOW
Young Scot teamed up with the Scottish Government Cashback for Communities programme to host all Cashback opportunities on the WOW search engine.
Cashback for Communities is a programme of fun, interesting and free opportunities funded by money recovered from criminals.
