Our Services
Consultation Services

Co-production of policy and services is crucial and giving young people the chance to share their views is at the heart of Young Scot's work and our range of consultation services are there to be accessed by Community Planning partners.
In 2011 alone we have delivered consultations on climate change, substance misuse, technology for learning, children's rights and many more. For every consultation, we work in partnership with local agencies, such as Dialogue Youth or voluntary sector services, to ensure our reach is inclusive and accessible.
For instance, our Climate Change consultation involved groups from Balfron High School in Stirling, Lochgilphead Joint Campus in Argyll & Bute and a Rathbone Training group from East Ayrshire.
We work with a range of partners to gather the views of young people to help them directly shape and influence key policy and decision makers.
Below are two examples of different consultation methodologies:
Young Scot: Says Who?
Is our online Consultation Toolkit which has methods to
help us and our partners, gather the opinions of young people.
It provides a rich interactive mixture of surveys, video, audio and a range of background resources to allow our partners to consult with young people on a chosen topic.
Youth Investigation Teams

This consultation methodology encourages informed participation by supporting young people to organise themselves into research teams to explore and report on issues that are important to them and their peers, making recommendations for policy and practice.
Young Scot consultation services are there to be accessed by local partners who want to ensure young people's voices are heard in community planning and policy making processes.
