I like the budgeting info on Young Scot Extra, it gave me ideas of how I can manage my money better which I have put into practice so my money lasts a bit longer!

It is our aim that by providing relevant, trusted and engaging information to young people, they are able to gain knowledge that helps empowers them to make more informed decisions and choices. We offer a holistic information service and strive to provide relevant youth- related content that is both responsive and reactive to the needs of all young people. All our work is informed through customer insights and monitoring trends and interactions – this ensures information is delivered in a manner relevant to young people’s lifestyles.

From money management, studying tips, to body confidence and relationships, Young.Scot is Scotland’s leading online information hub for young people.  It contains hyper-localised information, events and news across all 32 local council areas.

We promote information articles through social media,  and also understand the importance of tailoring information to suit different platforms to reach young people in networks that they daily interact with. For example, we daily create information tweets, YouTube videos, Instagram, Facebook images – providing a rich mixture of content for our audience.

Youth Engagement

We are an inclusive service and provide information in a variety of formats to suit different young people’s needs. Our Youth Engagement Team supports local partners to deliver information sessions in schools, youth groups and to harder to reach young people such as, young people with care experience or Polmont Young Offenders.

Information and Customer Enquiries

Young people can contact us to discuss any information or customer enquiries they may have. They can do this in the following ways:

  • InfoLine – free phone (0808 301 0338), email and social media service that provides young people with information on a range of topics such as, how to use their card, volunteering abroad, studying tips, relationship issues etc.
  • LawLine – a free, confidential, 24/7 legal service, run in partnership with JC Hughes Solicitors. Young people can call 0808 801 0801 on any legal problem, such as Children’s Panels, Criminal Law, Mental Health Tribunals etc.
