Young Scot Action Funds

"It was the best thing I have done in my life- I loved every second of it. I wouldn't have been able to have these memories and new friends if it hadn't been for your funding towards the trip. I cannot tell you how much the experience has meant to me." Gillian Wood, Young Scot Action Fund Award Recipient

Young Scot doesn't just offer information, it can give financial help too!

The Young Scot Action Fund offers grants, up to £200 for individuals and £750 for groups, to help get ideas off the ground that will benefit local communities.

Young Scot Arts Action Fund

A key element of our partnership with the Scottish Arts Council is the Young Scot Arts Action Fund, a pot of money available to young people who are wishing to unleash their artistic ideas and need a cash injection to fulfil their creative potential.

The Arts Action Fund can grant individuals up to £200 and up to £750 for groups aged 11 to 26.  Since it was launched in 2005, over £66,960.30 has been given away to young people.

Funding has been granted to a variety of projects from all over Scotland and the feedback we receive shows the positive impact the Arts Action Fund is having on people in Scotland.

In 2009, Moira Watson from Dundee, was granted £200 to cover framing and display costs at the first showcase of her sketches at Dundee’s famous venue, The Doghouse.

Moira says: “The night was a great success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without help from the Young Scot Arts Action Fund. I’m so proud that the night went so well, and I’m planning keeping the money I made from the event to use towards putting on more exhibitions in the future.”
